Staying vigilant with meal prepping can come with its own set of struggles. Whether it be sticking to a budget without sacrificing the overall taste or finding the motivation to prep for an entire week’s worth of meals, our success in this department is entirely dependent on just how badly we want it. And while there are countless examples of how to go about meal prepping, one Costco member just shared their method for yielding a week's worth of meals for only $100.

Redditor u/Craigbeau took to the interwebs this week to share his latest meal prep plan which he claims only cost him $100 and an easy hour of his time. The post immediately went viral, with hundreds of users chiming in to sing their praises for Craig's efforts as well as voice some understandable concerns.

The meal plan includes three different meals that consist of taco beef paired with vegetables and Costco’s Mexican Street Corn Salad Kit, shredded chicken and Costco’s Asian Cashew Salad Kit, and bowls of rice paired with protein and more vegetables. In addition to the 15 containers full of daily meals, Craig’s setup also includes eight jars of protein and vegetables, which he mentions are for his fiancé who “works from home,” stating that she can “add her salad to the protein and veggies.”

“About $7/meal isn't that bad, but it isn't that great either,” one user commented in response to Craig’s post. “I am surprised with the bulk that you get from Costco and their prices, you couldn't have lowered that to $2-3 per meal?”

While there are likely a handful of ways to get Craig’s total spend down a few dollars per meal, he does point out in the comments that he opts for the “higher-end” meats and vegetables for this plan. And in a previous post made to Reddit earlier this year, Craig shared another meal prep plan which garnered him 24 meals for just $67, proving that you can indeed bring the price down even further with some due diligence.
