How To Cut Cabbage The Right Way

Cutting into a cabbage can be a little intimidating. They're big, dense, and roll around on your cutting board! Stress no more, there's an easy way to cut these bad boys with minimal mess. Follow these simple steps and show cabbage who's boss.

1. Cut it in half.

See that stem? Cut right through the middle of it. Halving the cabbage makes it much more manageable to work with. PLUS it gives you access to the inside of the stem which is important because you need to...

2. Remove the stem.

Simply cut a "v" on either side of the stem to remove completely. Repeat on the other half and discard the stems.

3. Half the halves lengthwise.

Pro tip: Halve them cut side-down, so they're not rolling around.

4. Get shreddin'.
