Dairy Queen Is Bringing Back a Fan-Favorite Fall Blizzard Flavor
Those who are more than ready for fall to begin can feel like the season's finally here with the arrival of a Dairy Queen fan-favorite.
The ice cream chain announced that on Aug. 28, it's bringing back the beloved Pumpkin Pie Blizzard, which is September's Blizzard of the Month. The delicious autumn treat features Dairy Queen's signature soft serve, mixed with real pie pieces. It's topped with whipped cream and nutmeg, tasting just like pumpkin pie—if not better!
A small cup runs at 560 calories, while a medium-sized one is 720 and a large is 940. While it may not be the most health-conscious choice, your taste buds will be very happy.
In addition to the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard, Dairy Queen is also introducing some exciting Blizzard flavors for the fall. Instagram food news account Snackolator gave a glimpse at the upcoming lineup on July 15, which includes returning favorites Oreo Hot Cocoa, Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough, Caramel Fudge Cheesecake, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Pie, and Choco Dipped Strawberry.
A Royal Reese's Fluffernutter is also making its debut on the menu, which will be "filled with marshmallow down the middle," according to Snackolator. When the account shared the leak, many Dairy Queen fans voiced their concerns in the comments over possibly not getting to taste the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard again, but thankfully the dessert chain saved the best for last.
Other beloved chains are also introducing their fall-flavored favorites in the summer. Krispy Kreme brought back its Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed Doughnut and Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut on Aug. 7, while 7-Eleven is offering its Pumpkin Spice Latte already. Wendy's is also reportedly working on a Pumpkin Spice Frosty debuting in September, along with a Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew.
