Dakota Johnson Covers Vogue, Talks Nude Scene Confidence
We’ve seen enough of Dakota Johnson’s body to know that she is comfortable with nudity on film. But is that just because she’s young and has a great body? Not necessarily.
“Will I stop doing nude scenes when my boobs start sagging? I don’t know,” the Fifty Shades of Grey and Fifty Shades Darker star told Vogue in the February issue, in which she graces the cover.
“Maybe I have more of a European mind-set about these things,” Johnson added, meaning that maybe, like many Europeans who sunbathe or pose nude no matter what their age, she’d bare it all without a care in the world.
But when it comes to film, Johnson says her nude scenes are purely for realism’s sake. “I don’t want to see someone wearing a bra and underwear in a sex scene. Let’s be honest about it. People are naked when they f***.”
Good point.

We give her a lot of credit. In Johnson’s case, there wasn’t any makeup on her body to hide blemishes or spots that she wasn’t ready for the world to see (not that she has anything to be ashamed of). “There’s no makeup,” she revealed. Instead of simply covering up the tattoo she has on her butt, they hired a butt double for the first film based on the book.
Other than that, there was absolutely nothing to hide behind, especially for Anastasia. “There are no clothes to tell you a bit about the story,” she said. ”There’s no jewelry to give you a clue about [her] social status. So it becomes purely about the performance.”
That’s not the case for Johnson’s Vogue spread, in which she rocked a chopped bob with bangs for the shoot and lots of variations of striped outfits.
We guess this means that there’s more of Johnson to see — and there’s a fair chance that we’ll see it in the future.
