The Dangers of Eating Laundry Packets

The Doctors are issuing a strong warning about the dangers of eating laundry and dishwasher soap packets.

ER physician Dr. Travis Stork says, "These things could be deadly."

The Doctors explain that soap can burn or corrode organic tissue and could easily cause permanent health issues. Dermatologist Dr. Sonia Batra adds that the packets are very concentrated and the detergent's chemicals can be very corrosive to the body. She explains it can affect your esophagus and cause breathing problems. "These are really scary," Dr. Batra says of the online trend of people posting videos of themselves eating the packets.

Dr. Travis says, "It's not worth it. It could ruin your life."
