Debra Messing's face looks different and people are freaking out: 'You too??? Whhhyyyy?'
A recent photo of Debra Messing glammed up for a charity event had her fans wondering if she had gone under the knife — but she says she hasn’t.
The Will & Grace star, 50, posted a photo on social media of her look for a Do Something event, at which she was named by the charity — which helps young people make positive changes — a “2019 Empower Player.” The actress shared multiple photos crediting her glam squad, including makeup artist and hairstylist, but commenters really wanted to know if she has a new plastic surgeon.
Commenters said they didn’t recognize her. “Who is this woman?? No resemblance to Grace,” the character she’s portrayed on her popular NBC show during two different runs. “Not good!” Others were more specific: “New nose?” “Botox overload.” “Maybe less fillers ... starting to look plastic.” “Did you have a face-lift?” And several were along the lines of: “You too??? Whhhyyyy?”
See some of the comments:
Messing — who’s known for getting real with her followers, whether it’s sharing no makeup photos or talking politics, responded to the face-lift query with a big “NOPE.” She credited aesthetician Joanna Vargas’s facials for her youthful look — as well as “using every gadget on the market.”
She added that her makeup artist for the event, Rebecca Restrepo, gave her a “French eye” — and Restrepo posted a video from the glam session.
That hasn’t completely silenced commenters though as remarks continue about her appearance and what she’s “had done.” All the plastic surgery commentary led one follower Tony Maciulis to post that it was “a little sad this is a post about a cause and most of the comments are on your eye makeup.” To that Messing wrote, “THANK YOU.”
The Emmy-winning actress has been a TV fixture and fave since the ‘90s, including playing Grace Adler on Will & Grace, originally from 1998–2006 and now again in the reboot since 2017.
