We Discovered the Best Eyebrow Products in Every Category
Unless you're purposely clinging to the pencil-thin brows of the ‘90s, by now you've received the memo that full brows are in. Even if a full-on Cara Delevingne brow is not your style, defining your brows to frame your face properly is an absolute must to provide balance to your makeup look. There are endless options for filling in those brows, so we decided it was time to highlight our favorites.
Read our breakdown of the most popular types of brow products, along with our recommendations for the best brow products in each category!
Eyebrow Pencil
A true classic, eyebrow pencils were our first love in the world of brow products. Probably the most intuitive of the bunch, brow pencils can easily be used to draw quick hairlike strokes, creating the effect of fuller brows. You might also choose to shape the brow with a pencil and then alternate with a softer product like a powder to create dimension.
Eyebrow Powder
For that softer look we mentioned, we recommend using an eyebrow powder. You can lightly dust some on over the entire brow area for a diffused look, or mimic the hair-stroke technique mentioned above with a bit of powder and a stiff angled brush. You can even use a powder on top of creams or liquid brow products to further set your brows and keep that pigment in place!
Eyebrow Pomade
We love brow pomade. Not for the faint of heart, this product can go on quite heavy if you aren't careful. A product commonly used to create the infamous "Instagram eyebrow," you can also use less product to create a less severe look. The rich pigment will keep your brows looking properly defined, while the waxy consistency keeps hairs in place.
Eyebrow Wax
Eyebrow wax is extremely versatile as it can color and groom your brows. Some do both, or you can opt for a clear wax that'll just shape your brows and keep the hairs coiffed. This is a great option for people who don't want or need to add too much pigment, but want to look perfectly put together.
Eyebrow Gel
Eyebrow gels are fabulous! The consistency is perfect for brushing brows into place and creating the proper shape to flatter your face. Most come equipped with a spoolie applicator to make application a cinch.
Eyebrow Cream
Similar to a pomade or gel, eyebrow creams are typically a bit softer and creamier, therefore making them easy to blend. Creams can shape and sculpt your brows to perfection and even work well when mixed with other mediums, like brow powders, to create the ultimate brow look.
Eyebrow Mousse
As you'd suspect, eyebrow mousse is a bit lighter and fluffier than the other picks on our list, but provides all the darkening and shaping benefits of other brow products. If you're into brow creams, we have a feeling you might like brow mousse, too!
Eyebrow Liquid
For true artists and fans of bold brows, liquid eyebrow products are a must. Think of this as liquid eyeliner, but you use it to create hairlike strokes on your brow versus flicking a cat-eye wing with it. This will stay put all day and is beneficial for days when you need your makeup to truly last for hours.
