Dua Lipa poses with friends in colorful bikinis while on a break from tour: 'Sunbums'
Dua Lipa is hanging with her summer squad.
The “Levitating” artist, 26, posted on Instagram Saturday to share photos of herself and four friends (including her sister, model Rina Lipa) sporting colorful bikinis — and, in the case of Lipa, a matching pair of orange sunglasses. The three-time Grammy winner captioned the post, “Sunbums.”
Lipa is currently in the midst of her Future Nostalgia world tour, which was postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Her most recent stop on the tour was an August 10 concert in Budapest. She’s currently on a break until September — and clearly, making the most of it by hanging out with her friends.
When she’s not relaxing and performing, Lipa is also donating her time to a good cause. Earlier this week, she shared on Instagram that she is involved with a music foundation.
“@sunnyhillfoundation has teamed up with @musikmakarna , the songwriters academy in Sweden to create a new program for young talented songwriters in Kosovo,” she wrote alongside photos of herself with the students involved in the program. “I went down to the studio today to see what they have been upto and I was absolutely blown away by the talent and productiveness of the sessions within just a couple days of starting. I felt truly inspired and i’m very excited for us to continue working together to see this program grow into something really beautiful.”
In an April interview with NPR, Lipa spoke about overcoming self-doubt in her career by focusing on her music.
"I was at a point where I was so happy, I was doing everything that I wanted to, but then there were people who made me feel like maybe I wasn't good enough or I didn't deserve to be there, I wasn't cut out to be a musician," she shared. "I realized that what anyone says doesn't actually matter. It was something that I learned during the period of writing Future Nostalgia — I was able to shut people out. Now, if anybody says anything, it doesn't even bother me. Nothing even cuts through, because I realized that if you're passionate about something and you're good at your job and you write from the heart, no one can take that away from you. I had to take myself off Twitter, but if that's going to help me and my mental health and allow me to thrive in whatever way I choose to, that has been a saving grace."
