Duncan Library to host 'Pop-Up' locations
Sep. 2—The Duncan Public Library strives to bring inclusive and accessible library access to community members through several different avenues.
DPL Outreach Coordinator Jessica Allmon said the Duncan Library will host a variety of pop-up locations beginning in September.
The first Pop-Up Library event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at the Chisholm Mall.
Allmon said there will be new locations "popping up" around town all throughout September.
"Keep your eyes out for these visits as they are announced on social media," Allmon said.
In addition to these locations, Allmon said September is library card sign-up month.
"Join Optimus Prime and Transformers to discover that libraries are more than meets the eye," she said. "Your library provides tools to upgrade your skills, scout for knowledge and connect with information."
Allmon said the library brings programs, such as Minecraft, coding and knitting, to community members to ignite creative interests.
"We provide Tai-chi and Sit Fit classes to help energize your body," she said. "We even have opportunities to refuel during our Impa'chi Meal program."
Allmon said patrons can peruse the library's stacks, online databases and virtual libraries with their own library card.
DPL is located at 3785 N. Highway 81 in Duncan.
