Dunkin' Bringing Back Fan-Favorite Item Permanently After Customer Demand

Dunkin' is celebrating National Pecan Day in a big way.

Dunkin' is celebrating National Pecan Day by adding a fan favorite back to the menu on a permanent basis.

The Butter Pecan Swirl flavor has always been available temporarily, hitting the chain from April until August.

When its season was over, fans missed it so much that they petitioned to make it a permanent part of the Dunkin' menu. Some even created their own recipes to try to replicate it at home.

But thankfully, Dunkin' took note of how beloved it's become and is taking a step to please customers by making it a year-round staple.

The flavor will be available at Dunkin' locations nationwide beginning on April 26.

Butter Pecan Swirl was first introduced to Dunkin's menu in 2013. It's described as Dunkin's "second most sought-after flavor" (first is, of course, Pumpkin Spice). A decade after its debut, it felt like the perfect time for the chain to give its loyal customers what they've been asking for.

"On the 10-year anniversary of Butter Pecan Swirl's debut, we knew it was time to make this adored flavor a core menu staple," explained Dunkin's Chief Marketing Office Jill McVicar Nelson in a statement.

She added, "The requests from guests and our Dunkin’ teammates to make this Swirl a regular offering are staggering. We're thrilled to finally grant their wish, making this a permanent delight for Dunkin’ fans to savor all year long."

The press release also teases that "more pecan news" is coming soon, making it the perfect day for pecan lovers.

In addition to adding Butter Pecan Swirl to its menu, April will also offer something huge for Dunkin' fans: a chance to get a free cold brew. To celebrate Cold Brew Day on April 20, the donut and coffee chain is gifting Dunkin' Rewards members a free cold brew when they make a purchase using Dunkin's mobile app.
