ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) – On Wednesday, Elks Lodge in Ashwaubenon provided free meals to veterans, active members, and first responders.
The main dish was soup, but thanks to donations from Great Harvest Bread, they also served cookies and rolls. They do this to thank people for their service, sacrifice, and commitment to our communities.

“We support our veterans, and this is one way we do it through our Elks Lodge,” said Luann Schwietz from De Pere. “There are other programs we do, but this is our main program to give back to our veterans.”
The Soup for Vets event happens every second Wednesday of the month, except July, from 4 to 6 p.m.
