WATCH: This Is the Exact Nail Polish Kate Middleton Wore on Her Wedding Day
More than 20 million people tuned in to watch Kate Middleton walk down the aisle to marry her real-life Prince Charming in 2011.
At the time, we ogled over her iconic Alexander McQueen wedding dress and her Cartier halo-style tiara. Now, six years later after tying the knot with Prince William, more details have been released of thei meticulously-planned wedding that took place at Westminster Abbey, including the perfume she spritzed on her neck and the equally stunning second dress she wore on the big day. Just when we thought we knew everything there was to know about the lavish ceremony, in terms of her style and beauty choices, the exact nail polish she pampered herself with has finally been revealed.
Before the Duchess of Cambridge gave her royal balcony wave to the eager masses, the Duke of Cambridge placed a ring on Kate’s finger, whose nails happened to be painted in a mixture of these two polishes: So Laque Ultra Shine in "Rose Lounge Bourjois" and sheer "Allure" by Essie. It’s obvious the heralded woman of the people understands that sometimes a girl’s got to mix and match colors to create the perfect shade.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Kate’s wedding manicurist, Marina Sandoval, divulged that the Duchess wanted something timeless for her big day and (gasp) that she even did her own makeup.
Catherine wanted something very natural looking and I felt these [nail polishes] matched her skin color beautifully," Sandoval explained to the Daily Mail. "She wanted something off-white and bridal, so these were absolutely perfect.
Despite the Duchess sporting a custom royal mani, you’ll be shocked to learn that the polishes are actually a beauty bargain buy. The Rose Lounge is only $14 and a bottle of Allure is $9, which is quite the coincidence, considering Kate’s nail polish was very similar to Queen Elizabeth’s favorite shade—ballet slippers. Apparently, both the Queen and Kate have a fondness for inexpensive polishes in subtle pink hues. We can’t blame them, as we’re pretty big fans of pale pinks and soft blushes here in the South as well.

With the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding-day beauty secrets a mystery no more, here’s to hoping she gives us a hint about the gender or, at the very least, the name of the new royal baby on the way.
