Family claims that woman fell off motorcycle on first date and was left to die on interstate
A 33-year-old woman’s family believes she was left to die after falling off a motorcycle on a first date with a man she met online.
Jennifer St. Clair was found dead around 3 a.m. near a Florida interstate in Pompano Beach. According to the Miami Herald, the family reported that St. Clair was picked up by a man on a motorcycle around 10 p.m.
According to the report, authorities said the young woman had been hit by several cars while lying in the roadway.
The woman’s aunt, Amy Gamber, told local affiliate ABC 25, “We don’t know how anybody could do something like that. It’s the hardest part.”
“She was surrounded by a big family who loves her so much,” Gamber told the Miami Herald of her niece. “We’re still trying to process all of this.”
Gamber said the family has released all the information they know about the man St. Clair was with. “They believe they met online somehow,” the family’s attorney, Todd Falzone, told the paper. “Two other couples, who were also on motorcycles, also went along.”
According to Florida Highway Patrol officials, the woman’s death is currently being investigated as a traffic homicide. Some witnesses claim to have seen a man on a motorcycle standing near the victim’s body before he took off, the outlet reports.
St. Clair’s sister-in-law has set up a donation on Facebook to help pay for her memorial services.
