Fans Call for HBO to Cancel 'Euphoria' Following Angus Cloud's Death

Fans are grappling with the death of Euphoria star Angus Cloud.

On July 31, the death of Cloud—who was born Conor Angus Cloud Hickey—was confirmed by his family in a statement. The actor, who was best known for playing Fezco on HBO's Euphoria, was 25 years old.

Following the news of his passing, HBO released an official statement on Instagram, which read: "We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time."

It didn't take long for fans of Cloud and Euphoria to react to the news, with many calling for the network to cancel the Zendaya-led drama.

"just cancel Euphoria tbh," one top comment read.

Another fan chimed in, "this one hurts so much, cancel the show please."

A third follower declared, "Cancel the show. Fez made the show."

A fourth fan emotionally stated, "i cannot watch Euphoria without him."

Countless comments reflected similar sentiments. However, not all fans of Euphoria felt the same, with some calling the cancel call disrespectful.

One follower noted, "Fez was one of my favorite characters, besides Rue and Cassie. People need to stop with the cancel the show s--t and mourn Angus’ loss."

Another fan defended, "Can y'all literally stop with the 'cancel' the show stuff like just pay some respect a man just died."

This reaction comes shortly after Cloud's family shared in a statement, "It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways."

As the family statement noted, Cloud had "intensely struggled" with the recent loss of his father.

"The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend," the update continued. "Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."

Season three of Euphoria, which was renewed in February 2022, was expected to arrive in 2025. Although amid the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes and now the death of one of its stars, it's unclear what the future has in store for Euphoria.
