Fans Comfort Kenny Chesney After Singer Shares Heartbreaking Tribute

Kenny Chesney brought fans along during a very touching and personal moment.

The "Knowing You" singer shared a photo on social media of himself spreading some of the ashes of his dog, Ruby, who passed away in December.

He wrote in the caption, "Spreading Ruby’s love on the West Coast," before tagging her pet Instagram account, @darubagirl, on which Chesney continues to post sweet photos of the canine.

In the photo, Chesney, 55, is on the beach somewhere on the West Coast, although he doesn't share exactly where. The country singer gently spreads some of Ruby's ashes in the sand by his feet.

Fans really felt for Chesney and his grief, and they shared plenty of support in the comments.

"So glad she had you as a human that cared for her ??," wrote one fan, while another said, "Oh wow, what a beautiful thing you are doing. DaRuba will be loved and remembered everywhere. ??????."

"What an incredible way to honor Ruby! I'm sure it was not the easiest thing to get through, but now there will be a little piece of her everywhere!" a third added.

Many also mentioned Chesney's song that he wrote for his beloved Ruby, called "Da Ruba Girl." While he wrote the track a while ago and would often play it on his SiriusXM radio station, No Shoes, he officially released the song shortly after Ruby died.

"I wrote 'Da Ruba Girl' about Ruby, because she was this spirit who had so many different pieces to who she was," Chesney told People. "People loved the song, I think, because they all knew a dog who had the same kind of spirit or heart, you know, the kind who was an underdog, who wasn't the obvious choice."

The song's release was also for a great cause, as all proceeds will be donated to Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Additional donations may be made through the organization's website: www.strayrescue.org.
