Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger Correctly Guessed Miss Monster's Identity On 'The Masked Singer
After months of waiting, The Masked Singer's season 3 premiere aired, allowing fans to return to their favorite pastime: guessing celebrities' identities based off of ambiguous clues.
Prior to the premiere, people were talking about Miss Monster, a fluffy and feminine creature that prompted host Nick Cannon to say "season 3 is about to be lit."
So who is the Pink Monster?
Prior to the season 3 premiere, people were guessing Miss Monster's identity based on the minimal clues given in the season 3 promo. The main theory was that Miss Monster was Amber Najm, the wife of season 1 winner T-Pain.
Najm and T-Pain wed in 2003 and have three children together.
But when Miss Monster was eliminated in the Feb. 12 episodes, we finally learned that Miss Monster is TKTK.
Theory 1: Chaka Kahn
Fans had a feeling Chaka Kahn was hiding beneath the pink costume. Most of the original guesses were based solely on Miss Monster's voice, which a raspy, soulful ton.
There were, however, several clue pointing to Chaka Kahn all along.
The pre-performance package during the season 3 premiere ended with Miss Monster asking "will you still love me without knowing my name." In 1995, Chaka Kahn released the single, "Will You Love Me?"
In the second episode, there were several verbal reference "royalty," as well as focus on the Queen chess piece. Though Chaka Kahn is not officially royal, she has been dubbed the Queen of Funk and Funk's Eternal Queen.
In the third episode the clue package featured a pair of white socks and a teddy bear, which were a nod to Chaka Kahn's hometown of Chicago (home of the MLB's White Sox and Chicago Cubs, as well as the NFL's Bears.)
That clue package also featured a camoflauge
In that same episode, Miss Monster wrote Robin Thicke a Valentine's Day card, in which she talked about having a rendezvous in Sin City." Although Thick might not remember performing with Chaka Kahn at the 2009 NHL Awards in Las Vegas, the internet does.
Though fans were sad, and somewhat shocked, to see Miss Monster go, they are looking forward to the next round of guessing.
