Fans praise Bella Thorne for sharing makeup-free photo of her acne-prone skin

Bella Thorne has had a major hair transformation — but fans are more fixated on her skin.

The 20-year-old actress posted selfies on social media Sunday to show off her “peanut butter brown” hair, which was dyed ahead of her next film role. Though Thorne is no stranger to winged liner, glittery lids, or a statement lip, she opted to photograph herself without makeup.

While many stars have posted barefaced photos recently, Thorne’s selfies are particularly notable given her struggles with cystic acne. She’s been open about her strategies for covering up pimples with makeup, and she doesn’t let her skincare woes stop her from sharing all-natural selfies with her followers.

Many fans were inspired, while others noted improvement in her skin.

“Imperfections make u more beautiful!” one wrote.

Thorne hasn’t shied away from detailing her issues with breakouts, which she has previously treated with Accutane and topical gels.

“When you have acne, you keep thinking about how ugly it is and how everyone is just looking at it all the time — and it makes it so much worse!” she told Refinery29 in 2016. “It really stresses your skin out to another level, which causes more stress acne. It is literally so difficult. I’m like, ‘ARGH this pimple!’ but then I stop and I’m like, ‘I love this pimple.’ It is so hard to take your own advice, but I try a little and hope it will get better.”

The Famous in Love star won’t be barefaced for long; she’s reportedly working on launching her own makeup line.
