Dairy Queen is testing out a new sweet treat and fans cannot keep it together.
The beloved fast food joint is rumored to be getting ready to release a brand-new dipped cone flavor that almost anyone–but especially Oreo lovers–will enjoy. Well, that is so long as its market test is a success (and given the online chatter, we think it likely will be).
We have it on good word that the new frozen treat has been made available in at least one test market for a limited time, and DQ regulars are hoping it will go nationwide soon.
Food blogger Snackolater was the first to preview the new Cookie Monster Dipped Cone, which reportedly takes the fan-favorite flavor of Oreos and cookies and cream to a whole new level, with a blue hue inspired by the iconic Muppet.
"This is designed to give the ultimate cookies and cream taste and feel with a dip that features cookies and cream pieces in the dip for both taste and texture," according to the influencer.
"Personally I think this sounds great - I love the Confetti Cake dip (and it looks so nice!), but I will welcome Cookie Monster with open arms," Snackolater added.
The foodie wasn't the only one to think the test menu item was a superb idea, as Instagram users around the country hyped it up in the comments.
"I would love this! I didn’t realize they had a confetti cake dip!" one exclaimed.
"My level of excitement for this is ridiculous!" a second shared.
A third simply wrote, "I NEED this."
Apparently, it looks just as good as it tastes, as one lucky test menu taster got their hands on the item and shared a picture of it on Reddit, comparing it to "Oreo crème with Oreo pieces."
Those looking to try it out for themselves, well, you better hope you're in the Great Lakes region. According to what one reliable Instagram influencer was told by a DQ in Glencoe, Minn., the Cookie Monster Dipped Cone is now available at select stores–but not for long.
So far, that's the only location fans have been able to track down that might have it, but the limited information is surely not stopping them from continuing their hunt for it.
Dairy Queen did not immediately respond to Parade's request for comment.
