Kelly Clarkson's latest rendition of Kellyoke has fans in a chokehold, as she tends to do, and now they're desperate for a brand new album from the daytime television host.
The "Lighthouse" singer stepped up to the microphone with guest Lainey Wilson for an "extra special" duet, backed by My Band Ya'll, to perform the "Heart Like a Truck" singer's new single "Country's Cool Again," much to the delight of the audience.
The American Idol winner looked on in awe as Wilson started the track, joining in with some backing vocals during the chorus before taking the lead on the second verse, sounding like a born country artist.
Fans took note of how natural the genre felt for her, pleading for a country album next.
"Come on Kelly, gift us with a country album ????????????," one begged, with someone else pointing out they don't even care if it's original music or covers.
"We need a Kellyoke country album," another wrote in response. "Just putting in the universe."
Viewers had love to shower down on Wilson, too, but couldn't get over Clarkson's vocals.
"Lainey is amazing!!!" one comment read. "But man oh man Kelly melts me with her talent!!"
"I wished for kelly and lainey singing together," another admitted, calling the performance "exactly as awesome as I was hoping for."
"they're so lovely..." someone else wrote before suggesting that as soon as Clarkson opened her mouth they'd started to cry. "Kelly, we're still waiting for a country album!" they emphasized.
"I could listen to them sing together all day! Fantastic job!" another said.
Perhaps a duet album is what we actually need?
