Your Favorite OG 'RHONY' Housewives Are Heading Back to Scary Island for New 'Ultimate Girls Trip'

If you've been missing your old favorites on The Real Housewives of New York, never fear! They'll be back on your TV screens before you know it. That's because the OG RHONY housewives are filming an all-new season of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.

Post Season 13, Bravo announced that the RHONY franchise would be split in two. One version would be a completely new cast while the other would be made up of legacy housewives.

On May 15, 2023, we found out that the RHONY: Legacy series wouldn't be a stand-alone franchise but would rather be folded into Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, the Bravo franchise that sends former/current housewives on a vacation together. The season entitled The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy is set in St. Barts, near the Virgin Islands where the "Scary Island" vacation was filmed.

When does The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy premiere?

While we don't have an exact date yet, Variety reported that the series, which shot in June 2023, will air in December 2023. This is much earlier than expected as Season 4 of RHUGT filmed back in January 2023 and has not yet aired. Seems like the order of the seasons has been swapped with RHONY Legacy becoming the new Season 4 and the other season being pushed back to a 2024 release.

Who is in the cast of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy?

Kelly Killoren Bensimon

Perhaps the most exciting casting choice for RHONY Legacy comes with Killoren Bensimon's presence on the cast. The model-turned-real estate agent, appeared on Seasons 2-4 of RHONY but has not returned to the franchise since. Now she'll be rejoining some of her old friend/frenemies to rehash old beef.

Luann de Lesseps

You can't do RHONY Legacy without Countess Luann. One of the five original RHONY housewives, de Lesseps appeared on every season of the show prior to the re-casting and has become a Bravo legend. The cabaret singer is currently starring on Welcome to Crappie Lake, a fan-loved spinoff with Sonja Morgan, that may be part of the reason why RHONY Legacy has been bumped up in the Bravo lineup.

Dorinda Medley

Of the later RHONY housewives, none looms so large as Dorinda Medley. She joined the cast in Season 7 and quickly solidified herself as a fan favorite and staple for the series. She remained as a member of the cast until Season 12, and some blame her departure as part of the reason why Season 13 was underwhelming and triggered a cast change.

Sonja Morgan

While Sonja didn't arrive to RHONY until Season 3, it certainly seems like she's been here since the beginning. Morgan, who was previously married to the heir of J. P. Morgan, quickly became the life of the RHONY party and stayed with the show until its recasting in Season 14. Morgan is currently on Welcome to Crappie Lake with de Lesseps, and is one of Bravo's most famous housewives.

Ramona Singer

The always chaotic Ramona Singer will of course be appearing on RHONY Legacy. Like de Lesseps, she's appeared on every season of RHONY before the recasting and is a constant source of drama. If she weren't in the cast, we'd be flabbergasted.

Kristen Taekman

The most surprising addition to the cast is Kristen Taekman who only appeared on Seasons 6 and 7 of the original series. Taekman, a model and the wife of millionaire businessman Josh Taekman is the youngest member of the cast and will hopefully bring some youthful vivaciousness to the trip.

For RHONY Legacy, the housewives are returning to scene of the infamous "Scary Island," the Caribbean. RHONY Legacy was filmed on St. Barts which will provide a beachy backdrop for the drama.

Which OG RHONY cast members will not be on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy ?

While many of your favorite RHONY housewives will be back, there will be some notable absences.

Jill Zarin

Perhaps the most surprising is Jill Zarin, who appeared on the first four seasons of RHONY and more recently starred on Season 2 of RHUGT. She confirmed that producers reached out, but that they couldn't agree on terms.

Alex McCord

Alex McCord, also from Season 1, will not be appearing, but you'll be able to see her on the recently swapped Season 5 of RHUGT.

Bethenny Frankel

The Skinnygirl founder who left the OG series for good after Season 11, will not be returning for RHUGT: RHONY Legacy.

Frankel said on her Just B podcast that she was asked about returning for the legacy series.

"I got a text from, you know, the powers that be in the Bravosphere saying, 'Is there a chance? Is there a chance? Just asking, is there a chance?' Meaning, would I come back," she said.

She added, "When asked, I say, 'There's a number, but I don't think you can afford it.'"

Carole Radziwill, Heather Thomson, Tinsley Mortimer and Leah McSweeney, among others will also not be present.

Where can I watch The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy?

Like previous seasons of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, RHONY Legacy will premiere and air exclusively on Peacock.

How many seasons of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip are there?

There are currently three seasons of RHUGT available on Peacock to stream. RHONY Legacy will be Season 4 and a previously filmed season of the show has been bumped to Season 5, which will air in 2024.

RHONY Legacy will be Season 4. While a separate season that was previously announced as Season 4 and filmed prior to RHONY Legacy, will become Season 5. Bravo/Peacock has opted to swap their release order making RHONY Legacy the fourth season.
