Former Bachelorette Calls Taylor Swift Fans 'Obnoxious' and 'Disrespectful' to Football

Rachel Lindsay and Taylor Swift

Rachel Lindsay spoke up about her disapproval over how Swifites have been acting at Kansas City Chiefs football games now that Taylor Swift is dating tight end Travis Kelce.

The former Bachelorette shared her thoughts during the latest episode of The View's podcast Behind the Table. When asked by the show's executive producer Brian Teta how she feels about the Swift and Kelce "phenomenon," Lindsay didn't mince words: "I hate it. There's no other emotion that comes out of me than hating it."

She continued, "I love this game, I love this sport. Obviously, we've been familiar with Travis Kelce since he entered the league. We know all about him. I even watched his dating show when he did the reality TV show!"

Lindsay explained that she feels it's "exhausting" and "obnoxious" that Swifites are attending games and talking about them with the focus on the couple rather than Kelce's sportsmanship, with the media "playing into it too much" as well.

"People are coming to games wearing shirts that say 'Taylor Swift's boyfriend.' It's just a little disrespectful to the sport and to the game—and even to Travis Kelce," she opined.

The Bachelor Nation alum admitted that while the spotlight being on Kelce's relationship at games instead of on his talents on the field is a downside, the experience is also "amazing" for him. She explained, "He's got more Instagram followers… he's crossed over into a whole new audience."

Lindsay added, "This is fantastic for him but I don't want to constantly see flashes of her with Donna Kelce in the suite and whatever famous friends [Taylor Swift] decides to bring."

Earlier this month, Kelce commented on the NFL's excessive Swift coverage at games, noting on his podcast New Heights, "They’re overdoing it a little bit for sure, especially my situation. [But] I think they’re just trying to have fun with it."
