The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally open to the public, which means there are discounts on clothes, shoes, handbags, home goods, and more to take advantage of through August 8. One of the best parts of the annual sale is always beauty, where you can not only find markdowns on favorites, but also sale-exclusive sets whose costs are way less than their total value.
There are hundreds of beauty products on sale for skincare enthusiasts to snag, but don't worry if you aren't sure where to start. Below, four dermatologists share what they're shopping from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year.
Dr. Dendy Engelman, New York-City Based Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon
"I'm a fan of the Kiehl's brand, so I definitely recommend the Ultra Facial Cleanser Set, which includes their Ultra Facial Cleanser, Ultra Facial Cream, Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado and Retinol Skin-Renewing Daily Micro-Dose Cream," Dr. Engelman tells InStyle.
It's an excellent way to get familiar with skincare that is gentle yet effective, she adds. "The face wash cleans thoroughly without drying out the skin. The face moisturizer provides long-lasting moisture. The eye treatment feels luxurious and is a great way to hydrate the sensitive under-eye area. The retinol serum is perfect for retinol beginners because the small dose allows the skin to adapt to the retinol while providing anti-aging benefits over time." All of the products can be used in your morning and evening routine — except the retinol, which should only be used at night.
Dr. Engelman also recommends the Supergoop! Handscreen SPF 40. "This is an excellent, super-hydrating two-in-one hand cream and sunscreen that's great for even those with sensitive skin," she says. "The clean, reef-safe formula absorbs quickly and is packed with antioxidants to fight free radical damage and signs of aging. I recommend applying hands daily all-year-round for a dose of hydration and sun protection." (The Anniversary Sale set shown below is sold out, but you can still buy Handscreen at Nordstrom starting at $14.)

Dr. Alicia Zalka, Board Certified Dermatologist and Founder of Surface Deep
Dr. Zalka recommends snagging the Sunday Riley Good Genes Home and Away Set.
It contains lactic acid, and she's "a big fan of lactic acid," a member of the alpha hydroxy acid family of skincare compounds. "It deep cleanses and exfoliates. It also leaves the skin more polished."
Facial cleaning devices are a dime a dozen now, but this one from PMD is worth buying, according to Dr. Zalka. "This silicone-surfaced tool provides a gentle exfoliating and vibrating skin treatment. It can turn any chosen cleanser into a spa facial. The surface of the wand is easier to keep clean and often better tolerated than bristle brush type rotating mechanical face cleansing devices," she tells InStyle.
If you're seeking shiny hair, Dr. Zalka suggests these silk pillowcases from Slip. "I sleep on a silk pillowcase every night. They reduce friction on the skin and hair during sleep — hence, I wake up with a smoother face and softer hair," she says.
Lastly, she's throwing a Makeup Eraser set in her cart. "I love the double texture cleansing cloth that is washable," she says. "It easily removes makeup and the dark cloth of the Starry Night version hides stains left from mascara. Fan of the reusable factor and the carrying case for travel."

Dr. Jenny Liu, Board-Certified Dermatologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota
Dr. Liu tells InStyle that First Aid Beauty Full Size Ultra Repair Cream Set is an excellent selection from the sale. "It's a great hydrating moisturizer with soothing colloidal oats and other calming ingredients such as feverfew, licorice, green tea; hydrating ingredients including allantoin, squalene, ceramides, shea butter."
Next up on Dr. Liu's list is Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant With Salicylic Acid. "It helps to lightly exfoliate, and may improve pore congestion and acid. Would recommend using it a few times weekly, not daily," she advises. (Editor's note: This product is not currently on sale.)
Finally, she notes that "the Clinique Moisture Surge is a gel cream moisturizer with hyaluronic acid. It's lightweight, non-greasy, [and] great for deep hydration for the summer." The duo of jars will last for months.

Dr. Lindsey Zubritsky Board-Certified Dermatologist at Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery
The ExfoliKate Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash from Kate Somerville is first on Dr. Zubritsky's list. "I love that this cleanser does more than just clean the skin," she tells InStyle. "It's a foaming cleanser, so you really feel like you are removing all of the dirt, debris, and makeup on your skin, but it also contains some of the most powerful, but gentle chemical exfoliating ingredients like glycolic acid and lactic acid, which improves the texture of the skin and minimizes pores."
Dr. Zubritsky also suggests snagging the Advanced Night Repair Serum Set from Estée Lauder. "It's a serum that is fast-penetrating and addresses signs of aging while also adding plumpness and hydration to the skin," she says. "It contains hyaluronic acid, which is great for improving skin hydration, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles, and plumping skin. It's also oil-free. "Then, make sure your skincare routine has some SPF. "I'm such a fan of the brand Coola. Sunscreen is the most important step to any skincare regimen." You can pick up three different full-sized Coola sunscreens for under $50 right now.
