New game lounge and bar coming to Kansas City Crossroads district

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A building in downtown is about to get a new tenant.

Ricochet, a popular game lounge and social bar, is set to open a new 11,000-square-foot location at Grand Place, formerly the historic Kansas City Star building, located at 18th and Grand in Kansas City’s Crossroads Arts District.

Ricochet, also known as “King Pong,” has developed into one of the top downtown entertainment destinations in Des Moines, Iowa.

Leading the Ricochet expansion into Kansas City is co-founder Brad Argo, along with hospitality specialist Mike Utley. This will be the second Ricochet venue.

“We are very excited to bring our concept to Kansas City, the Crossroads area, and especially
Grand Place,” said Argo.

“The area, architecture and energy checked all the boxes for Ricochet and as we’re expanding through the Midwest, our second location is key for our long-term success. That being said, once we saw the plans for Grand Place, we knew we had found a home in Kansas City. “
