Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood Streamed Another Live Concert and It Was So, So Good
1) When Garth and Trisha did an encore performance of "Shallow" from A Star Is Born.
Garth and Trisha nearly broke the internet with their first performance of "Shallow" during their Facebook live special last week. This week's performance was just as moving, and fans on Twitter couldn't get enough.
"Trisha & Garth singing Shallow right now is EVERYTHING!" tweeted one fan. "Love this little escape from the craziness of the world."
2) When Garth gave fans a sneak peek into the couple's life in quarantine.
After Trisha performed "If It Hadn't Been for Love" by the Steeldrivers, Garth joked that it wasn't the first time he'd heard the song lately.
"If anybody wants to know what (my) home life's like … she'll just be doing the dishes and break into that song. It kills me," he teased.
3) When Garth serenaded Trisha (and all of us) with one of her favorite songs, "To Make You Feel My Love."
The Bob Dylan classic has famously been covered by Garth, Billy Joel, and Adele—and it also happens to hold a special place in Garth and Trisha's relationship.
"That's our song," Trisha told fans. "That gets me."
"Can we go to commercial so I can wipe my eyes?" she added.
4) When Trisha took a special request from her sister.
Trisha took everyone's breath away when she performed "Over the Rainbow," a special request from her sister, Beth.
Trisha, who has performed the ballad live at concerts in the past, said she hoped it would give fans a feeling of hope amid the coronavirus pandemic.
"This is about hope," she said. "That's why I love that song so much."
5) When Garth and Trisha donated $1 million to coronavirus relief efforts.
As part of the intimate broadcast, the couple partnered with CBS to donate $1 million to COVID-19 relief efforts.
"Every penny that they’re doing for this is going to go to fight (on) the COVID-19 front line," Garth said. "They’re putting their lives on the line so the rest of us can survive."
Garth and Trisha's latest live concert was everything we hoped it would be and more—and it turns out the singers needed the pick-me-up just as much as we did.
“We want to you know that you guys, what you're doing [by watching] is also helping us. I mean, everybody has been so nice and saying, ‘Thank you for doing this.’ But we want to thank you, because we want to connect just as much as everybody does,” Trisha told fans. “So, this is selfishly good for us too. We appreciate you being here.”
Garth's romantic serenade made Trisha cry and we're not okay.
