Gold & Grub: Five places to dine in and watch the 2024 Paris Olympics

With the 2024 Paris Olympics underway, one of the best parts about watching the Summer Games is cheering on people representing your country as they vie for the gold.

While it may be usual to watch in the comfort of your home, it's only fitting to celebrate the nation's champions and root for the two dozen former and current Florida State University students competing in this year's games in the company of other enthusiasts.

And restaurants and sports bars in Tallahassee are providing the perfect venues, with walls of screens to catch all the action.

With new weekly lunch specials offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays ranging from country fried steak to a turkey club sandwich, you can always expect something new to grub on while teams compete for the gold. The local bar offers a hefty menu filled with traditional American fare to choose which includes burgers, sandwiches, dinner platters and booze drinks to pair. Whether you're looking to watch the games or challenge friends at the dart boards and pool tables, Corner Pocket Bar and Grill offers a casual venue for it all. Located off Apalachee Parkway, the friendly sports bar operating since 2006 has a patio and outside bar to watch the game, as well as a large dining area to grab a bite of their traditional American fare which includes sandwiches, wings, salads and more. From basketball to aquatics and even breakdancing in this year's games, you won't miss a beat of the competition with the giant television wall.
