Golden Harvest to distribute fresh produce Thursday

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Golden Harvest Food Bank is giving local families an opportunity to pick up fresh produce this week.

On Thursday Sept. 12, Golden Harvest Food Bank will hold a produce distribution in the parking lot of the main Augusta warehouse at 3310 Commerce Drive from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Individuals and families can drive up to the warehouse and volunteers will place fresh produce into the trunks of incoming vehicles. Each car can receive enough produce to feed two families.

According to Golden Harvest, distributed produce include apples, plums, peaches, as well as other food items. As supplies last, quantity and variety of each item will vary.

Those arriving are asked to arrive in a vehicle with an empty trunk.
