Guardians of the Galaxy 4 Teased For First Time
The Guardians of the Galaxy will return. But when, and how? That’s been heavily under wraps - until now.
Speaking on Threads, the director of the previous three Guardians of the Galaxy movies dropped the first vaguest of hints about what awaits in Marvel’s fourth instalment.
"Kevin and I are on great terms," Gunn said, in reference to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. "Although a few characters aren't coming back, I'd love for GotG to continue with the current members+ and I'd trust Kevin to pick the right person for that."
It’s the first time anyone from inside Marvel (or used to be) has spoken about the next Guardians movie, and suggests a reinvention of the popular superhero team.
The last movie introduced Cosmo the telepathic golden retriever, Adam Warlock, and furry alien creature Blurp.
Star-Lord is also on his own journey on Earth, separate from the Guardians, while Gamora and Mantis also broke away. Drax actor Dave Bautista has also said publicly that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is his last film in the series. Although that doesn't necessarily mean he's done; just like Hayden Christensen Isn’t done with Star Wars.
So, while there is definitely a Guardians of the Galaxy 4 coming, as confirmed by Gunn, it’ll look a lot different to what anyone expects.
