Gwyneth Paltrow Thinks the GOOP Heist Is Good Publicity

Gwyneth Paltrow might have her haters (anyone pushing vajaycials and conscious uncoupling is bound to collect a boatload), but it’s undeniable that as a businesswoman, she knows what she’s doing — no matter how ludicrous her latest venture. Recently, the actress opened a holiday pop-up shop in New York City selling $1,100 cutoff denim shorts, $950 printed T-shirts, and $1,350 overalls, among other overpriced luxury items. Yet because automatic nut milk makers, Stella McCartney bags, and peony print jumpsuits are obviously at the top of a Black Market list somewhere, the store was robbed of nearly $200,000 worth of inventory.

But Paltrow hasn’t let the heist get her down. In fact, according to her mother, Blythe Danner, she’s a half glass full kind of girl and is seeing the mishap as a good thing. “I called her immediately,” Danner told Page Six after she heard about the incident at the Time Warner Center. “And she said, ‘Oh, Mom, it’s OK. It’s good publicity.’” The Meet the Fockers star added, “She always has a good spin on things, and I admire her tenacity and her upbeat message.” Asked whether or not the NYPD has any leads, she said, “I don’t know anything about it. I’ll find out.”

Waiting with bated breath.
