Hailey Baldwin Opens Up About How Social Media “Hate” Really Affects Her
Hailey Baldwin called out trolls in an Insta, writing, “NEWS FLASH: It hurts to be torn apart on the internet!!!”
She also called social media “a breeding ground for cruelty.”
It may be a new year, but we’ve still got the same ol’ Hailey Baldwin, ’cause girl is once again letting it all out on Instagram. As those of us who carefully track Mrs. Bieber’s moves on social media will know, Hailey is no stranger to getting brutally honest on the internet, whether that means clapping back at a Swifie who was upset with Justin, seemingly shading Selena Gomez’s new music or sharing that rumors of her being pregnant were simply based on a food baby. It’s been good times!
And yesterday, Hails opened up in a different type of way, sharing some of the struggles that come with being famous. She wrote a lengthy Instagram caption, saying, “Twitter etc. is SUCH a breeding ground for cruelty,” and got personal, writing:
I could sit here all day and say the hate doesn’t bug me, that the words that are said don’t affect me. But NEWS FLASH: it hurts to be torn apart on the internet!!! It hurts to be compared to other human beings every single day, it hurts for people to jump to conclusions and make assumptions. It hurts to be called names, and to feel like you don’t measure up to a certain standard.. the list goes on and on. I share this only because it weighs often on my heart and because it’s important to be honest about how these things affect us mentally and emotionally.
It’s not clear if Hailey’s post is in response to a specific incident or just in general, but FYI, this isn’t the first time that Hailey has addressed the her trolls. In a September 2019 interview with Vogue Australia, Hailey admitted that people who say negative things about her marriage with Justin make her question their relationship, sharing, “You can’t help but wonder, Does someone see something that I don’t see?”
Basically, people just need to stop being online bullies!
