Hellessy Spring 2022
Residing in Miami, Sylvie Millstein was inspired by a visit to the Superblue Art exhibit for Hellessy’s spring collection. The displayed works of James Turrell — a linear light installation and immersive, digital environment of blooming flowers — influenced Millstein to imbue her 28-look spring collection with cheerful colors, ranging from cobalt to fuchsia, and floral motifs onto a collection that played with proportions and volumes.
The look: A continuation of Millstein’s signature: glamorizing timeless pieces from day to night. Spring’s use of color was uplifting, while her restraint with embellishments made the collection feel easier, more refined.

Quote of note: “This season was a bit more exuberant in my approach of color palette and pattern; I wanted to see my clothes be a little bit more dramatic and exaggerated.”
Key pieces: New interpretations of Hellessy’s signature embellished jeans and army green chinos (with pretty patchwork details), asymmetric and hybrid blouses, knits, poplin shirting and bustier tops with exposed shoulders, exaggerated silhouettes or self-styling details. For cocktail and evening, bubble-shaped minidresses and a cobalt blue silk crepe shirt and wide-legged jogger felt fresh for spring.
The takeaway: The collection embodied Hellessy’s signature play on volumes, glamorization of everyday fashions and the joys of dressing up once again for spring.
