When Princess Kate Will Return for Her First Royal Engagement

Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales

Kate Middleton officially has a date where fans can expect to see her resume her royal duties at a public event after recovering from abdominal surgery.

The Princess of Wales' first engagement following her medical operation was announced on Tuesday, March 5, as she is set to review Trooping the Colour on June 8.

"Trooping the Colour reviewed by Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales is identical to Trooping the Colour reviewed by His Majesty The King, with the exception that some additional mounted officers ride when His Majesty The King is present," the website states.

It continued to explain: "Taking part will be over 1400 soldiers of the Household Division and The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, including 400 musicians from the Massed Bands, all of whom will parade on Horse Guards for the second of two formal Reviews. Trooping the Colour reviewed by Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales also includes 250 soldiers from the Foot Guards who will line the processional route along The Mall."

As Parade previously reported, Princess Kate was admitted to the hospital for a planned abdominal surgery on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

After the internet ran amuck with theories that she was "missing" amid her recovery, the Palace addressed public concerns, simply noting that the matter is being handled privately. It was also mentioned that King Charles had been more open about his condition due to the fact that he is an actively reigning monarch, but such is not the case for the princess.

Following Kensington Palace's attempt at reassurance, Kate's husband, Prince William, appeared worry-free while pouring beers at The Turf pub in Wrexham on Friday, Mar. 1 as part of the national celebration of St. David's Day.

The Princess of Wales was also spotted out riding in a vehicle for the first time since leaving the hospital on Monday, March 4.
