High school holds a 'Men's Week' with posters calling men 'superior'
Parents and students at a high school in Utah are up in arms after seeing “sexist” posters displayed around Snow Canyon High School in honor of “Men’s Week.”—
The weeklong event — meant to be part of the school’s “Battle of the Sexes” — has caused controversy in the past after signs with demeaning messages about women were posted on hallways throughout the school just last year. But somehow, the event was reinstated, and evidently the messaging hasn’t improved.
“Enter if you believe men are the superior gender,” and “What’s a women’s [sic] point of view? The kitchen window,” are just two examples of the messages featured in photos posted to social media.

However, the posters might not be the worst part.
In addition to the degrading words advertised throughout the hallways, the school also presented an itinerary of supposedly male-oriented activities throughout the week, like arm-wrestling and video game competitions. On Friday, male students were to be thrown a pizza party and allowed early dismissal.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Snow Canyon High had canceled “Women’s Week,” which was to be held in February 2018. Naturally, people are confused and upset that “Men’s Week” somehow continued. But the event is not new.

Snow Canyon High School and Washington County School District didn’t immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment. However, a letter sent out to parents by its principal, Warren Brooks, and obtained by the Salt Lake Tribune states that the divisive posters were not authorized by administrators.
“Upon discovery, the administration immediately took down the banners the next day,” Brooks wrote. “The statements written on these posters were inappropriate, thoughtless and were not sanctioned by administration and the student body planning committee. The activities scheduled for this week have been reviewed and revised to be all inclusive.”
