Our Honest Review of Chick-fil-A's 4 New Salad Dressings
It’s always exciting when you can bring the taste of your favorite restaurant home, either through a copycat recipe you find on the internet or a new product release you can whip up for dinner.
Beginning this month, the salad dressing aisle is getting some zesty competition from Chick-fil-A’s new salad dressings. Already popular with Chick-fil-A regulars (with some even admitting to hoarding the chain’s dressing packets on TikTok), these four salad dressings are ready to be added to your cart and eaten in abundance this summer on everything from pizza and sandwiches to, well, your favorite salad of course.
What are the Chick-fil-A salad dressings?
The salad dressings come in 12-ounce plastic bottles and there are four to choose from in this lineup: Garden Herb Ranch, Avocado Lime Ranch, Creamy Salsa and Zesty Apple Cider Vinaigrette. Regulars will recognize the dressings as they are the same ones used on the menu at Chick-fil-A for their Cobb Salad, Spicy Southwest Salad and the Market Salad. There are four other dressings at Chick-fil-A restaurants that are not in this initial lineup, however: Light Italian, Light Balsamic Vinaigrette, Fat-Free Honey Mustard and Honey Poppyseed Dressing.

What do the Chick-fil-A salad dressings taste like?
Garden Herb Ranch
With a buttermilk base, this dressing is your classic everyday ranch with strong undertones of garlic and onion. This one was my least favorite but only because it didn’t have anything special about it that wowed me from other ranch dressings. It’s a decent ranch, though, and it was good to dip carrots in or pour over salad greens. I would be curious to cook with it and see if making a recipe with this one makes it a tad more exciting.

Avocado Lime Ranch
This one was my favorite of all the dressings and is also the most popular overall of Chick-fil-A’s dressings. The avocado flavor was so strong that I actually scanned the ingredients list to see how high up on the list it was (it is in the top few ingredients). It’s cool and creamy and limey and it would be just as fantastic drizzled on tacos in place of sour cream as it was over my spring greens salad.
Creamy Salsa
The Creamy Salsa dressing was originally developed by Chick-fil-A’s culinary team to pair with their Spicy Southwest Salad. If you’re not a huge fan of spice or cumin, you won’t like this one as jalapenos and cumin are the dominant flavors here. It’s a creamy dressing with a lot of heat and a hint of garlic at the end.
Zesty Apple Cider Vinaigrette
This one is the lightest of the four dressings, as it is not one of the buttermilk-based ones. I didn’t think it was particularly “zesty,” but you might if you’re not used to the flavor of apple cider vinegar, which can be kind of severe. I thought this dressing was really mellow and had a really pleasant sweetness to it, though. It kind of tasted like dipping an apple into honey with a tangy twist of vinegar at the end.
Where can you buy the Chick-fil-A salad dressings?
If you want to find the new salad dressings, don’t expect to find them at the drive-thru of your local Chick-fil-A. These bottled dressings are rolling out in grocery stores and Walmart locations nationwide starting this month in the refrigerated section. They retail for about $5 each.
