What 'Honey Boo Boo' Plans to Do After Graduating High School

Following her recent high school graduation, Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson is preparing for college!

June Shannon, better known as Mama June, shared her youngest daughter's plans with E! News' Francesca Amiker, revealing that the former pageant queen is set to pursue neonatal nursing.

In a "Senior Spotlight" shared on her high school's Facebook page, she confirmed that she looked forward to majoring in neonatal nursing at Regis beginning in August, while admitting that she's "gonna miss high school a little bit."

Thompson graduated earlier this week on May 20. Her mom shared a video of the recent grad walking across the stage in her cap and gown on Instagram later that day, gushing, "I’m so proud of her she is our 2023 graduate and yes we was hollering the whole time WTG LANA."

"We pretty much screamed the whole entire time," Shannon also told the publication. "Yeah, some naysayers commented, like, 'Man y'all didn't let anybody else hear their child's name.' But that's really what you're supposed to do on graduation, whoop and holler like crazy, because we weren't the only family there doing that."

There's been a notable amount of drama between Shannon and her daughters over the years, which she says attending graduation together has helped smooth over even more.

"A year ago, there was a lot of crazy friction," she pointed out. "And we're also dealing with that stuff with Anna [referring to her oldest daughter's recent cancer diagnosis]. A lot of stuff has been happening the last few months with our family. It has been rocked to the core with everything."

The tension has been well-documented on WE tv's Mama June: Family Crisis, which recently came back with a sixth season.
