Honey Boo Boo Reportedly Cast on Special "Junior" Season of Dancing With The Stars
Earlier this year, your fave (our fave! everyone's fave!) Adam Rippon won the special athletes-themed mini-season of ABC's long-running reality competition Dancing With The Stars. The network has since confirmed another spin-off, Dancing With The Stars: Junior - featuring teen/tween celebrities, as well as the children of celebrities, competing alongside young professional dancers. (Some of the show's regular pros have been tapped as mentors.)
ABC has not officially confirmed a premiere date for the DWTS: Junior, but it's believed to be lined up for a slot on the fall schedule - a promotional page for the show lists a Sunday night primetime timeslot, apparently alongside a "regular" season of the show set to air on Mondays.
And while ABC has not confirmed any casting news, those taking part in the show are reportedly already in Los Angeles for rehearsals - and both Us Weekly and The Blast report the lineup includes now 12-year-old Toddlers & Tiaras/Here Comes Honey Boo Boo breakout star Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson. Per The Blast, Thompson has "been seen going in and out of practice and is taking it very seriously."
Black-ish actor Miles Brown, 13, is also believed to be competing. There are believed to be 10 more contestants - JustJared has listed 12 young pros serving as the celebs' dance partners, including some relatives of regular DWTS stars, alums of the "Next Generation" season of So You Think You Can Dance, and even Dance Moms' Elliana Walmsley.
Now, let's take a moment to remember where Honey Boo Boo's reality TV journey began:
