Welcome to Hook’d! We bring you insights, tips, and deals in fashion, tech, home, and more, via a rotating roster of in-the-know hosts. This week’s episode features Youtuber Kennedy Johnson.
When it comes to staying fit, Kennedy is all about at-home workouts. Her favorite fitness prop weighs next to nothing and takes up no space: a set of resistance bands that can target every muscle group for the best full-body workout.
“This is the perfect place for me to show you guys this, because I work out in my living room all the time,” says Kennedy. “You use these for too long and you will break a sweat. Don’t let these little bands fool you.”
Her favorite workouts might be simple to do, but that doesn’t make them any less intense.
“If you keep [the bands] down below at the ankle, I would say work on some leg lifts,” she instructs. “If you kick in the front you’re working out the core, and in the back that’s where we’re really getting that peach together.” Her tip for this move? “You really want to hold it and bring it back slowly.”
Kennedy shifts the band up to target her legs. “Another way to use these is to bring it up right below the knee and get some squats in.”
With her upper body workout, Kennedy notices immediate muscle-toning results. “Don’t think that you’re only going to be working on the lower half with these,” Kennedy says. “You can put this right here at the wrist to work out the shoulders, the back, the arms, biceps, and triceps.”
With almost 950 reviews on Amazon, reviewers agree that these heavy duty bands are the best quality you’ll find for your home workout. Don’t say you “don’t have any space” for workout equipment ever again, and get squatting!
