Hugh Hefner's death gets Twitter worried about Betty White
Hugh Hefner and Betty White aren’t two of the names you’d typically hear in the same sentence, but it seems that the Playboy mogul’s death has people worrying about the health of the ever-feisty Golden Girls star — and protecting her at all costs for eternity.
Late Wednesday night, news broke that Hefner, 91, died of natural causes at his home, the Playboy Mansion, and his name predictably started to trend on Twitter in the U.S. However, just an hour later, it was less expected to see White, 95, appear on the same list. His death apparently had people worried about — and just talking about — the health of the iconic TV star, who made a guest appearance on Bones earlier this year.
Here were some of the tweets people were posting, so you could get the vibe:

Of course, White has often been the subject of death hoaxes through the years. (Yes, we know — sick.) There was a big one in 2014, but it happened again this past May. At the time, she was preparing for an appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden. (FYI, the Hot in Cleveland star was on her game that night, as per usual.)
We reached out to White’s reps but haven’t heard back yet. However, there’s no reason to think that White is doing anything at this moment other than living her best life, which includes eating hot dogs, drinking vodka, and, possibly, dumping boyfriends. And she’ll soon be on the red carpet. The Paley Center for Media announced Tuesday that she will be honored at “Paley Honors in Hollywood: A Gala Celebrating Women in Television” on Oct. 12.
Maybe she’ll trend that night under less icky circumstances.
