I'm stocking up on these incredibly fluffy towels while they're down to $11 during Target Circle Week
'Hands down the softest things I've put on my body,' raves one shopper — no arguments here.
You may not think of showering as self-care, but you can make the process into more of a relaxing ritual. I've started using scented shower steamers, massaging a light oil into my dry skin and wearing my favorite eye masks as soon as I pop out. But maybe the simplest change I made was upgrading my bath towels. My new favorites, Target's Casaluna Modal Bath Towels, are so soft and fluffy, they feel like towels you might find at a luxury spa. Best of all, they don't cost a lot — and they're on sale for $11 during Target Circle Week.
The standard bath towel measures 56 by 30 inches and comes in seven neutral colors.
?? Why is this a good deal?
These top-selling towels already feel like a steal at their regular price, but at 30% off during Target Circle Week, they're especially irresistible — I had to buy more for my guest bathroom. You can build a whole set for less right now: The washcloth is on sale for $8, the hand towel for $9, the bath towel for $11.20 and the larger bath sheet for $17.50. (I opted for the large, luxurious bath sheets!)
?? Why do I need these?
I first discovered Target's Casaluna brand on TikTok — people were going crazy over its waffle towels. However, I like a fluffier option, so upon further research (mindless scrolling), I found there were tons of fans raving about the cotton modal towels, too. They have tons of five-star reviews — but we'll get to those in a minute.
Modal is a semi-synthetic form of rayon (or viscose) made from beech tree pulp that's often used in pajamas, underwear and bed sheets because it's incredibly soft. It's also stretchy, breathable, durable, fade-resistant and super-absorbent — which makes it especially great in a bath towel.
I love the plush bath sheets — they're 65 by 33 inches. I'm 5-foot-2 so they feel kind of massive, but my 6-foot-tall partner appreciates the bigger size. They come in seven fade-resistant colors. I purchased the white and I only wash them with white towels and sheets, so I can't personally comment on fading. However, they wash well — no shrinking or pilling!
Some reviewers say the towels shed, but I haven't had that experience. (However, it may vary by color.)
?? What reviewers say
Hundreds of Target shoppers give these towels five stars, and 80% of shoppers recommend them.
?? Pros
"These towels are really great," wrote one happy shopper. "I love a fluffier towel, but am usually turned off by the massive amounts of lint that you deal with until the towels are 'broken in' and then frankly they aren't as fluffy anymore. By having the modal incorporated, you get the best of all worlds: fluffiness, softness and much less shedding!"
"I love luxury, high-end, spa-quality towels. I will always splurge on good towels and sheets, [but] I was wildly surprised to find that these are the very best I’ve ever purchased," wrote another five-star fan. "The bath sheet is luxurious and so well-made and has stayed gorgeously plush for over a year. I have bought six so far, and will buy these as gifts for everyone — they are that good."
"For larger bodies, and those who are tall, these towels are just the right size," said another in regards to the bath sheets. "I've gotten a few, had them for around a year and they look like new towels still. Highly recommend for someone wanting a roomier towel!"
"Do yourself a favor and buy. these. immediately," wrote an enthusiastic fan. "They are hands down the softest things I've put on my body and such amazing quality. Honestly, a steal for the price!"
?? Cons
"When I was looking at the reviews for this towel, I did see a few that said it sheds and I still took the risk because I liked the look and color of them," explained one customer. "I will say the first three to five washes, you will have a lot of shedding in the dryer as well as you will find a bit on your skin after drying off ... I would recommend these towels if you can overlook the shedding."
"These towels have stayed quite soft which is the biggest plus," wrote a final fan. "The rust color hasn’t faded in 30-plus washes. The negatives are that they shed a lot for the first 10 or so washes. In the lint trap of the dryer (a lot!) and onto our skin when we'd dry off."
(Tip: If your towels shed, you may be using too much detergent. Homes & Gardens suggests cutting your laundry detergent in half, avoiding fabric softener and even using a little white vinegar in the wash. One Target shopper said the latter worked!)
I'm loving this bigger size — and I chose bright white because you can bleach it if you need to remove stubborn stains.
