Ina Garten Explains How Yoga Changed Her Life
Ina Garten has a lot of reasons to be, as she puts it, "frazzled all the time." Seeing as her name is always in the news, she's never not doing something — writing a cookbook, filming a show, granting the good people of America an even further look into her life by giving an interview. In doing just that recently — an interview on Michael Ian Black's podcast How To Be Amazing — she revealed how she copes with all the stress.
When Black asked Garten to share anything from her life that she would recommend to others, she replied: yoga. "It just quiets me down, and I think it's great for creativity," she elaborated. If you're having trouble imagining the 69-year-old chef doing chaturangas, wait for her to finish. "This isn't where you wrap your ankle around the back of your head," Garten laughed. Her version of the exercise is more relaxation than traditional poses.
So if you were thinking of skipping the gym tonight, just ask yourself — what would Ina do? (Psst … we've got the answer: "I always think, 'Oh, I'm too tired to do yoga now,' and when it's over I think, 'Ah, that was great.") The Queen has spoken.
