Internet Reacts to Drake's New Face Tattoo

Of all the places on the body, what an interesting spot for a tattoo.

Drake had the internet up in arms when he debuted his fresh ink.

The skin art—a small tattoo of his mom's initials—is in a decidedly interesting spot, directly beneath his eye, almost semi-reminiscent of a teardrop.

On Thursday, Aug. 11, the 35-year-old Canadian rapper stunned fans with the reveal after sharing a zoomed-in shot of the new addition on Instagram along with a handful of other random captures. The lower case English goth font reveals "sg," the initials belonging to his mother, Sandra "Sandi" Gayle Graham.

The photo slideshow was simply captioned: "Sandra Gale ??." It included a collection of snaps including vintage art, drinks, flashy cars, and a Blackberry.

The bold placement of the "God's Plan" artist's body art drew in a multitude of responses from fans and followers.

"Man I’m concerned Drake got a face tattoo, what if rap doesn’t work out??," one Twitter user joked, while another added that he was "inspired" to get a face marking of his own.

One social media user suggested age should never be an obstacle when it comes to going after what you want, offering: "next time you're worried you're too old to do something remember that drake got a face tattoo at 35."

Meanwhile, another brought the actor-turned-rapper's previous ink into the conversation, commenting that he has the "worst assortment of tattoos."

A few fans were not shy with showing their utter disapproval of the placement. "why would drake ruin his face with that tattoo? no idc how small it is or that it’s his mother’s initials," one tweeted, while another echoed the sentiment with: "I’m so mad drake got a face tattoo! Like whyyyyy would he do that!"

There's even video footage of the work being done, as "Champagne Papi" can be seen lying down while the artist completes the lettering.

While everyone has their own opinions, at the end of the day—YOLO, right? Or at least, we're pretty sure that's Drake's thought process on the matter.
