Jamie Lee Curtis Celebrates Lindsay Lohan Making Her a ‘Movie Grandmother’
Jamie Lee Curtis is celebrating the birth of her "movie daughter's" first child!
Lindsay Lohan and her husband, Bader Shammas, welcomed their son yesterday, July 17, two days ahead of her due date, naming the babe Luai Shammas.
Curtis, who played Lohan's mother in the Disney remake of Freaky Friday, was delighted by the news, dubbing the day "MAGIC MONDAY!" in an Instagram post celebrating her movie grandson's birth.
"My movie daughter just made me a movie grandmother," she continued. "Blessings to Lindsay and Bader for the birth of Luai!"
Alongside the sweet message, she shared a screenshot from the film as well as a photo of the two posing together during the same time period.
Fans of the franchise were psyched by the reference, with one writing, "this just healed something in me."
"My favorite duo of Disney actresses!!!" another wrote.
"Aww...Congratulations 'movie grandma,'" someone else offered. "How lucky is Lindsay to have you in her life."
Fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel to the 2003 flick, which should see the pair reunite as Tess Coleman and her daughter, Anna. So far, the script hasn't moved past the development stage, but both stars have expressed their interest in returning.
Curtis once admitted to calling her "friends" at Disney to tell them, "It feels like there’s a movie to be made," while Lohan has said, "Jamie and I are both open to that, so we’re leaving it in the hands that be. We would only make something that people would absolutely adore."
Lohan is, of course, a little busy with her new role of mama right now—not to mention the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes—so it's a good thing the production isn't ready to go quite yet!
