Jennifer Lopez responds to commenter's claims about her looks: 'I have never done Botox or any injectables or surgery'
Don’t be fooled by the smooth skin she’s got — gotten Botox she has not.
So says Jennifer Lopez, who set an Instagram commenter straight over claims the 51-year-old star has “definitely” had “tons” of Botox.
This comes after Lopez — who recently spoke about refusing a boyfriend’s suggestion to get Botox in her early 20s, adding, “my face would be a totally different face today” — shared an video of her marveling at the results from using the That Limitless Glow Mask from her just-launched Jlo Beauty line.
“Honestly, I cannot even see a line on my face,” the Hustlers star says of her “glowy and gorgeous” skin after using the mask in the video posted to Instagram this weekend.
One commenter wasn’t so sure that the mask alone was to thank, however.
“But can I just mention that brows and forehead doesn’t move at all when you talk or try to express,” the poster wrote. “You definitely have Botox. And tons of it. And it’s all good. Just saying.”
It didn’t take long for Lopez herself to respond.
“LOL that’s just my face!!!!” the actress and singer wrote back. “For the 500 millionth time ... I have never done Botox or any injectables or surgery!! Just sayin.’ Get you some JLo Beauty and feel beautiful in your own skin!!
“And here is another JLo Beauty secret,” she added. “Try spending your time being more positive, kind and uplifting of others. Don’t spend your time trying to bring others down, that will keep you youthful and beautiful too. Sending you love.”
Others rushed to Lopez’s defense, accusing the commenter of being “envious.” Some shared that commenter’s skepticism, however, accusing Lopez of misrepresenting her routine and stigmatizing Botox. “I mean, I love her but honestly no lines?! Come one,” read one comment.
Speaking to Elle in December, Lopez credited positivity and self-love for her youthful looks.
“Every day, I say ‘I am youthful and timeless at every age,’” she explained. “‘I live a beautiful adventurous life with my children, and we're all in perfect health, always.’ All of these great things you learn to say to yourself so there's this positive self-talk in your head really does create a beautiful person on the inside who maintains a beautiful person on the outside.”
She added, "I heard this saying once when I was younger: ‘Until 25, you get the face you're born with, but after 25, you get the face you deserve.’ ... You have to be a nice, beautiful person on the inside if you want to have your face reflect that. You become what you think and how you act."
