Every year, the world's greatest jewelry and watch brands set up shop in Las Vegas to present their best designs at the Couture show at the Wynn hotel. It isn't the raucous weekend of gambling and illicit substances that it sounds like, instead it is actually quite tame in that regard. As an editor, it is always a fun show to attend as each piece is truly a work of art, and who doesn't enjoy trying on dazzling pieces of jewelry all day and night? As with every trade show, there are always lots of trends that emerge over the course of the event, and, here, I've have highlighted my absolute favorites.
Brands like Kwiat (shown), Mikimoto, and Antonini decided to show new collections highlighting this precious verdant stone.
Temple St. Clair turned to the Wiener Werkst?tte, the early 20th century art and design movement in Austria, which inspired her Spring collection, Nature Deconstructed.
Brooches are back in style, and Mikimoto decided to do a whole display showcasing theirs. I especially love these Kofuku No Ki ones shown here.
Fashion houses continue to bring their A-game to the watch category, and Dior decided to focus on fireworks as one of their motifs for their high-jewelry timepieces.
Jewelers are incorporating turquoise everywhere like in this ring, earrings, and bracelet from the Africa collection by Marco Bicego, where they added the stone to give it an extra pop!
Talismans are definitely having a moment! Messika decided to add some feathers, which have symbolized celestial wisdom, to their high-jewelry collection while other brands like Temple St. Clair launched a dream catcher inspired necklace.
Flower motifs like these beautiful earrings by Irene Neuwirth are springing up. Marco Bicego also introduced a floral inspired collection as did Mikimoto.
Layers and stacking are still in for bangles and rings, but what's new is why not pair your watch with your bangle as well? The Ladies double strap Faubourg by Hermés is perfect for this!
