First Lady Jill Biden merged the 2024 monochrome and power suiting trends for an event in the Rose Garden at the White House on Monday in Washington, D.C. The first lady of the U.S. celebrated new educational and technological advancements for the public tours of the executive mansion during her speech.

For the occasion, Biden opted for an emerald green power suit courtesy of Argent. The look featured a pair of tailored, wide-leg trousers and a coordinated blazer with sharp shoulders and lapels. Maintaining her monochrome style, Biden added a green silk blouse in a complementary shade.
When it came to her accessories, Biden favored dainty gold jewelry, including hoop earrings and a statement brooch on one lapel of her single-breasted blazer. Her blond hair was styled with soft curls.
The monochrome trend has dominated in 2024, appearing on red carpets and among celebrities off-duty. Cardi B wore an all-gray outfit courtesy of Helsa while visiting Revolve Group in Los Angeles on Tuesday. A week earlier, for “The Room Next Door” photo call in Madrid, Julianne Moore wore a brown Attersee ensemble.
In power suiting, Biden’s penchant for the monochrome trend aligns with suited styles. Although she has worn formal dresses by Schiaparelli and Ralph Lauren, among other designers, the first lady is not averse to tailored suiting.
During a trip to Mexico for the inauguration of President Claudia Sheinbaum, Biden chose a monochrome red suit by Theory. This tailored ensemble, similar to her outfit at the Rose Garden event on Monday, included a coordinated trouser and blazer set, paired with a red blouse.
