Kate Middleton Shares a New Photo of Prince George and Princess Charlotte to Mark Volunteers' Week
As the coronavirus pandemic continues, volunteers are more important than ever, and this weekend, the royal family is honoring those who give their time, energy, and resources in service of others.
To mark Volunteers' Week in the UK, Kensington Palace shared a new photo of Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte volunteering earlier this year.
"As we approach the end of #VolunteersWeek The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to share a new photo taken by The Duchess as they played their own part in the national volunteering effort," reads the caption on the photo taken of the royals from behind.
Back in April, the Cambridge family volunteered on the Sandringham estate, where, according to Kensington Palace, "the family helped to pack up and deliver food packages for isolated pensioners in the local area."
It was on that day that Kate also took the photos released to celebrate Princess Charlotte's birthday.
Queen Elizabeth also issued a statement in honor of the week, sending her well-wishes to those "who give themselves so freely and selflessly." Read her message in full here:
“As Volunteers’ Week draws to a close, it is inspiring to reflect on the many thousands of people, who through their acts of generosity and kindness, have achieved so much for the greater good.
I have been following with interest how men and women from around the world, including my own family, have been helping and recognising the vital role of the volunteer. I send my best wishes to all those who give themselves so freely and selflessly in the service of others.”
She signed the message: Elizabeth R.
