Katie Holmes Wore a Blanket Dress in 90-Degree Weather
Katie Holmes found a way to wear a blanket as an outfit in the middle of the New York City summer.
The actress stepped out yesterday for an appearance on Good Morning America wearing a knit midi dress with white, gray, brown, and black stripes with a matching shawl by Chloé. She paired the cozy-looking piece with oxford sneakers, also by the brand, and carried a black croc shoulder bag.
Holmes didn't seem the least bit bothered by the heat wave in her cabin-chic ensemble. She even kept her hair down in relaxed waves. As for glam, she wore her signature natural makeup.
On GMA, Holmes spoke about her new movie, Alone Together, which premieres tomorrow.
"I tried to write something kind of simple enough to shoot it in pretty much one location, and I decided to just lean into the pandemic, since we've all gone through it together," she said about writing the script and filming the movie at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. "This is a love story, because I felt like we'd all gone through so much. And for me during that time, I really gravitated towards watching things that I knew the ending, it was pretty hopeful."
Holmes—who is currently dating composer and producer Bobby Wooten III—continued, "That's what felt right to write. And I had read a lot of different stories about people falling in love, people getting divorced, people having babies, you know, all of that. And I thought, 'Well, I think I'd rather tell a story about people coming together than breaking up.'"
