Kellan Lutz Confirms He’s Engaged to “Light of My Life” Brittany Gonzales
Kellan Lutz has found his light, his lobster, whatever you’d like to call it. The Twilight actor confirmed his engagement to girlfriend Brittany Gonzales in an interview this week with Steve Harvey.
Harvey referred to Gonzales as Lutz’s “fiancee” and shared that she had previously worked in the audience department of Family Feud. “Brittany, she’s the light of my life,” Lutz, 32, said on the Steve Harvey Show. “She told me so much about you… She couldn’t come today, but she wanted to come and give you guys the biggest hug. She had the best time on the show.”
Lutz’s engagement followed his buzzed-about proclamation of love for Gonzales last winter. “2016 has been an amazing year and I thank God for all that he has blessed me with,” Lutz wrote in December. “The biggest blessing has been finding the love of my life and the ONE he has promised me. It’s truly mind blowing to surrender to Him and see the blessings he has in store. Over a year ago, in a season of being single, I wrote a letter to God with all the qualities I truly wanted in my future wife. I stayed strong, I pressed in, I fixed some things I didn’t know I needed to fix and after a period of prayer, patience, and perseverance, He brought her into my life in the most beautiful of ways.”
In his Instagram message, Lutz said it was love at first sight. “I knew it the moment I saw her. She is the love of my life,” he said. “The one God created for me! She is my best friend and the best teammate to shine brighter with. Thank you for loving me the way that you always do. Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for your beautiful unconditional heart.”
Harvey also joked about Gonzales’ beauty while chatting with Lutz. “I didn’t see her though,” the show host said. “You hit the jackpot. She must have been in disguise on the show.”
Us Weekly was first to report that Lutz and Gonzales were engaged. “A woman sitting outside having breakfast shouted Kellan’s name and he walked over to her with Brittany. She was congratulating them and asked them if they were getting married in New York or L.A.,” an eyewitness told the magazine last month. “They walked into the restaurant and when Brittany opened the door I could see her large engagement ring!”
Lutz’s Twilight co-star Ashley Greene also got engaged this year.
