Kendall Jenner Is Bringing Back Fanny Packs, with a Twist
It’s no secret that Kendall Jenner is obsessing over fanny packs lately. The 21-year-old model has incorporated the accessory into a number of her street style looks, with numerous high-end pouches in her rotation. Perhaps what’s most interesting though, is the different ways in which she wears her new favorite accessory. Putting fanny packs around your waist is so last century.
The model was recently spotted slinging Louis Vuitton‘s belt bag across her chest during two New York City outings. She wore the designer fanny pack over her shoulder with an on-trend blazer and matching trousers by designer Wolk Morais, and also with a chic black and denim ensemble.
The model has been wearing her fanny packs slung across her body like that since Paris Fashion Week in early March. Her inspiration could possibly have come from Alexander Wang, who styled his take on the fanny pack in a similar fashion in photographs for his 2016 pre-fall collection.
Whether Jenner’s styling note is out of convenience or her desire to bring the pouches back in trend, the model appears to love toting her essentials in the convenient accessory.
Of course, she does occasionally go for the traditional fanny pack styling: Earlier this week she wore her Louis Vuitton belt bag around her waist and with a romper from Self Portrait, which she paired with a white bodysuit featuring rainbow trim from her own label, Kendall + Kylie. She completed the unique look with Adidas Powerphase Calabasas sneakers.
The social media star has also been spotted sporting a black Chanel fanny pack — again, rocked in the traditional way.
She appears to be such a fan of the fanny pack trend that her own label, Kendall + Kylie, is selling one. The embroidered black leather fanny pack is available on kendall-kylie.com for $125.
