Kevin Durant’s Nike Air Terra Humara-Inspired KD 18 Will Debut With Only 1,988 Pairs
After the Nike KD 17 modeled itself after the Air Max Plus, Kevin Durant’s latest signature sneaker is now looking to the Air Terra Humara for inspiration.
The Nike KD 18 is quietly making its debut as part of the “Black Label” collection, which brings together all of the Swoosh’s signature sneakers in black-dominant color schemes with the number of pairs made corresponding to their respective player’s birth year. That means the KD 18 will only get 1,988 pairs for its launch colorway, as Durant was born in 1988. Each of the sneakers features slight flourishes deviating from the dark theme, the KD 18’s being a silver Swoosh and turqoise KD logo.

For now, what can be seen is all that’s been revealed about the KD 18. The performance specs haven’t yet been revealed, but the wavy overlays leading up to the eyestays are clearly derived from the Air Terra Humara. Having debuted in 1997, the trail running shoe became a hit in the fashion scene in its original run and was just brought back by Nike in late-2023.
The “Black Label” collection includes not only sneakers for NBA signature athletes LeBron James (LeBron 22), Giannis Antetokounmpo (Giannis Freak 7), Ja Morant (Ja 2) and Devin Booker (Book 1), but Victor Wembanyama (G.T. Hustle 3) and the WNBA’s Sabrina Ionescu (Sabrina 2) as well. The G.T. Cut 3 Turbo will also be included but without any affiliation with a player.
The Nike KD 18 and the rest of the “Black Label” collection will release February 14 at both Nike and Foot Locker’s San Francisco activations for the NBA All-Star Game. No announcements for online releases have been made but they could still be in store.
