Kim Kardashian may seem totally flawless, but as is you might expect, nobody is perfect, and even stars have their mortal side. In Kim’s case, she suffers from psoriasis.

The reality star recently confided again on her website about what it’s like for her to live with the skin condition. During flare-ups, she said, she gets red patches on her skin, particularly on her right leg.

She described it as her “big flaw,” but added that she feels no need to hide it.

“I don’t even really try to cover it that much anymore,” she wrote on KimKardashianWest.com on Wednesday. “Sometimes I just feel like it’s my big flaw and everyone knows about it, so why cover it?”

Kardashian was diagnosed with the condition in 2010.

It currently has no cure, and its severity varies from person to person. It’s also hereditary, and Kardashian inherited the skin condition from her mother.

Kardashian explained she’s learning to “accept it,” and manages her condition by getting cortisone shots and adjusting her diet.

“Everyone with psoriasis has different symptoms. Sometimes the rashes are itchy, sometimes they’re flaky,” she says.

“Mine flares up from time to time for different reasons. I’m always hoping for a cure, of course, but in the meantime, I’m learning to just accept it as part of who I am.”

People with psoriasis have an increased production of skin cells, and the build-up of these cells creates red patches.

It’s a little unsightly, but it isn’t contagious. A doctor can often diagnose the condition just by taking a look at your skin.
